Columbia Gorge Yoga + Beer Retreat
September 18-21, 2025
The Society Hotel
A slower-paced retreat that soaks up the best of the Columbia Gorge - from outdoor adventures, to Hood River’s beloved breweries, and yoga in a hobbit hole! Join Mikki Trowbridge and fellow yogis for our fifth annual Yoga + Beer retreat in the Columbia Gorge - four days and three nights of yoga, beer, and Gorge-ousness.
The Pint-Sized Summary
This Yoga + Beer Retreat is meant to be a getaway that provides you with a good excuse to take a long weekend in one of the PNW’s most magical places. Our itinerary is built to include the perfect blend of fun, outdoor adventure, time to explore and plenty of relaxation at the beautiful Society Hotel. This Yoga + Beer retreat will include five yoga classes with Mikki, nine meals, adult beverages at lunch and dinner, a kayak adventure, and lodging at The Society Hotel. More details below ...
The Full Keg of Details
We like specifics, so we’re going to assume that you do too. Here is the general idea of what our days will entail. The exact schedule will be released as we get closer to the retreat.
Yoga Practices
This retreat includes five yoga classes, all led by Y+B Founder, Mikki Trowbridge. Practices are 90 minutes (plus one 2.5 hour workshop) and are a similar vinyasa/flow style to our regular Yoga + Beer classes - but we use these retreats as an opportunity to deepen our understanding of the yoga practice. We will spend time learning more about the poses, the subtleties within the shapes, breathwork, meditation, and the limbs of yoga. Practices will be inclusive of all levels of yogi, with lots of options given. Practices are held in The Sanctuary at The Society Hotel. If you’re a yoga teacher looking for CEUs, this retreat will qualify as 9 hours.
Meals & Refreshments
Your belly and your thirst will be well taken care of all weekend, because no one wants a hangry yogi. All of your meals will be included, starting with dinner on Thursday night, and continuing through lunch on Sunday. Your first beer is included at each lunch and each dinner - with an option for other adult beverages if you are not a beer-lover. Because of how busy the Gorge is, we alternate on this retreat between going out to restaurants, and having the restaurants bring food to us at the hotel - which allows for us to “stay in” some nights at the hotel and soak up extra moments at the spa.
Lodging
Our retreat group stays at The Society Hotel in Bingen, WA, just over the river from Hood River. Our hotel compound will act as our home base for the weekend, including a yoga studio in a hobbit hole (legitimately a hobbit hole), in which we will be doing 1-2 yoga classes per day. The hotel also has spa facilities available to us throughout the weekend, which include a sauna and soaking pools that are complimentary for all hotel guests. We have pricing options (see below) for a variety of room types to fit your budget. If you live in Hood River or have a place to stay close by, we have a no lodging option for you that includes the entire weekend, sans lodging.
Local Business Love
Supporting and investing in local businesses is a core part of our Y+B mission, and something we integrate into all of our retreats. We eat at locally owned restaurants, and imbibe at local breweries. Our partners for our Hood River Retreat typically include Double Mountain Brewery, Everybody’s Brewing, Pfriem, Ferment Brewing, Boda, Henni’s Kitchen, Solstice Pizza, and Gorge Paddle Center.
Retreat Schedule
Our retreat will begin with an evening yoga class at 5pm on Thursday, September 18th, and ends after lunch on Sunday, September 21st. Each day will include some free time for you to do your own adventuring and exploring. Since this is just a weekend - we don't want to overwhelm you with activities, but we will provide suggestions for adventuring during your free time. Because most of our planned activities happen on or near the hotel compound, we do not provide transportation for this retreat - and will coordinate carpools when transportation is needed. If during your free time you desire to drive to a hike, or into Hood River, you’ll need to have your own means of transportation. Our goal is to make this a fun and easy going weekend - that you don't have to plan. Get yourself to Bingen, and let us take care of the rest!
Here is our 2024 schedule for this retreat, to give you an idea of how our days flow. Our 2025 schedule will be finalized about a month before the retreat, and will be emailed out to all registered yogis.
